Rivers, springs, ponds: an ecological survey

Spring 2016

'The Sandwell Valley contains many streams and ponds and the river Tame winds its way across the northern part of the area, as does the Tame Valley Canal. The Club is about to embark on a sizeable project involving ecological survey of these in the hope that the results will be valuable to all parties involved in management and wildlife conservation in the area.

The Environment Agency has had a long term interest in the river Tame and regularly reports on the state of its waters, also carrying out modifications of the river course and surrounds for a variety of reasons. For those wishing to read a little more about the recent history of these, a short account is provided We hope to provide more details on this pageas the project unfolds.
